The Aït Manos house
Behind Maison Aït Manos, a cosmopolitan couple in love with Moroccan arts and crafts. Ghalia and Tawfik met in 1990 on the shores of the Mediterranean.
What they have in common is a melting pot of cultures against a Moroccan backdrop. With his Austrian and Moroccan origins, raised largely abroad by diplomatic parents, Tawfik has a deep attachment to Morocco and its decorative arts, which his artistic spirit combined with Germanic rigor, recognize as unique in the world. Ghalia, for her part, was raised with respect for the traditions of Fez, where her father's family originated, and with the rigor of a mother from Lyon, raising her 4 children with a sense of effort and permanent perfectionism. Their passion for Morocco and its light, aesthetics and craftsmanship led them to found Maison Aït Manos in 1995, an allegory of their love for zellige. Since then, they've been making it, sublimating it, adapting it and modernizing it, without ever betraying its ancestral manufacturing process.
